Colonel Oliver Stanley to refer to the correspondence ending with your letter of the 22nd October last, No. 083/5979. Q.M.G:F., regarding expenditure incurred by His Majesty's Consul General, Manila in connection with the evacuation of civilians from Hong Kong and to inform you that the Comptroller and Auditor General has agreed to the acceptance of the
claim without supporting vouchers. Accordingly the sum of £32,068.14.9 representing the sterling equivalent of the total sum of Pesos 258,948.94 claimed to have been expended by the Consul General is being refunded to the Foreign Office by this office from the Colonial and Middle Eastern Services Deposit Account and a
Receivable Order is enclosed herewith to enable refund to be made to that account of the sterling equivalent
